Governor Terry Branstad is the next U.S. Ambassador to China. Branstad was confirmed by the U.S. Senate Monday with a bipartisan 82-13 vote. He will resign at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, then immediately be sworn in as ambassador. After that swearing-in, Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds will take the oath of office as as Iowa's 43rd governor. She is also expected to give a brief address as governor.
