Road construction on S. Duff Ave. has moved to the outside lanes. The City of Ames says in a news release two-lane traffic will be maintained from the Squaw Creek bridge to S. 5th St. However, traffic will funnel to one lane in each direction in front of the Walmart Supercenter. The city says northbound vehicles traveling to Walmart could be detoured to SE 5th St. but access to other area businesses will be maintained. The work, which includes improvements to driveways, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks, is anticipated to last two weeks. The city advises drivers to use caution and allow extra travel time.
