Drivers on Duff Ave. in north Ames will notice new stop signs on the route. In a news release, the city says traffic crews installed an all-way stop and marked pedestrian crossings at the intersection of 24th St. and Duff Thursday. The city says the work is in response to people who live in the area concened about the safety of kids trying to cross the street to get to Inis Grove Park or walking to Meeker elementary school. The crosswalk improvements are being done in advance of a bike lane striping project on Duff Ave. scheduled for later this summer.
