Drivers across Iowa will face lots of road construction this year. The Iowa Department of Transportation says it plans to spend around $680 million on road and bridge projects this year. That falls just under last year's record-breaking expense of $695 million. In addition to the nearly 500 work zones the state will conduct, local municipalities plan to have numerous projects of their own.
