Water quality fails in 2017 session

Action on funding water quality projects in Iowa will have to wait another year.  Lawmakers couldn't agree on how to fund projects in the waning hours of the legislative session Saturday morning, so the issue is dead until next year.  The house last week advocated for collaborative work on water quality projects after senators passed their own measure.  Gov. Branstad repeatedly pushed lawmakers last year and this year to pass a bill, but it'll likely be up to Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds to tackle the issue next year.
