Employees at three Ames businesses were cited for selling alcohol to minors. In a news release, the Ames Police Department says more than two-dozen businesses were checked during an undercover compliance operation Thursday. Victoria Brown, 21, at Bar La Tosca on Main St., Christopher Culligan, 22, at Brick City Grill in Somerset, and Brandon Clark, 20, at a Kum-and-Go in west Ames were all cited for selling alcohol to an underage person. Police say the total fine including the surcharge and court costs for the violation is more than $700. Police ran undercover investigations in 29 Ames bars, restaurants, and convenience stores.
