Average gas prices in Iowa are a penny lower statewide than a week ago. Triple A says Iowans are paying $2.35 for a gallon of regular. The national average is $2.42. Davenport drivers are paying least per gallon at $2.24 for regular. Davenport is the only Iowa metro area where price is below $2.30 a gallon. For the first time in weeks, Des Moines does not have the most expensive gas in Iowa--Cedar Rapids leads the state with the highest average price per gallon at $2.39, followed by Des Moines and Waterloo-Cedar Falls at $2.36 a gallon.
