Fireworks to become legal in Iowa

It appears the legalization of consumer fireworks in Iowa is just a stroke of the governor's pen away.  The legislature finalized approval of a bill allowing the purchase of fireworks, including bottle rockets, firecrackers and roman candles.  Governor Branstad has indicated he would sign the measure.  Once legalized, fireworks could be sold between June 1st and July 8th and then again between December 10th and January 3rd.  Although the sale of fireworks would be legal, municipalities could still choose to restrict their use.
