Iowa House passes abortion bill

Iowa is one step closer to joining many other states with a ban on abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy.  The House voted 55-42 Wednesday to pass a measure that also includes a three-day waiting period before an abortion can be performed. What's not in the house version of the bill is an exception for rape and incest, but it does allow for abortions if the mother's life is at risk.  The House also rejected a Senate-passed proposal to impose criminal penalties against doctors who perform abortions after 20 weeks.
