Vote expected on 20-week abortion ban

A vote is expected Wednesday on a measure restricting when Iowa women can get an abortion.  House members began a debate on a bill banning abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy Tuesday, but went home for the night without casting a vote.  The bill also includes no exception for rape and incest, but does allow for abortions if the mother's life is at risk.  The Senate-passed bill included a prison sentence of up to ten years for a doctor who performs an abortion after 20 weeks, but the House removed that provision.
