"Stand your ground" bill passes Iowa Senate

Iowa is one step closer to having a "stand your ground" law.  The Senate passed the measure Tuesday including the controversial provision, but only after making some slight changes to the overall bill.  A person can use deadly force if they believe they're in danger, while not having to retreat, under the "stand your ground" provision.  The measure also says a person's handgun permit would be good for five years.  The House now has the bill after the Senate's changes.
