The father of an Ames man sentenced for an attempted child abduction faces charges in connection to an altercation after the sentencing. Story County prosecutors say Atak Atem Yel, 55, shouted at the victim's family when leaving the courtroom in Nevada and threatened to go after the victim. Yel is charged with 2nd-degree harassment. Yel's son, Akuk Akok, 18, was convicted in January of 1st-degree burglary, child stealing and assault while participating in a felony. He was sentenced last week to 27 years in prison.
