The legalization of medical marijuana oil in iowa took a step forward with the approval of a bill by an Iowa House subcommittee. Lawmakers heard testimony in support of the bill from people who said their seizures, cancer pain and symptoms of multiple sclerosis were relieved with the use of cannabis oil, also known as CBD. The subcommittee supported the bill and moved it onto the House Public Safety Committee for consideration. In addition to allowing CBD for medical treatment, the bill would direct the Iowa Department of Public Health to oversee the production and distribution of the oil.
