A prominent Iowa union leader is vowing a swift lawsuit against a bill that reforms collective bargaining. AFSCME Council 61 president Danny Homan says the lawsuit will come very soon given that the bill will be signed into law by Gov. Branstad in the coming days. Base wages would be the only thing most public union employees could bargain for under the soon-to-be law. Republicans in the House and Senate cut off debate to force a vote on the measure even after an all-night filibuster by Senate Democrats.
