Closs Kidnapping Details Released

Jayme Closs found

In a newly-filed criminal complaint released today, 13-year-old Jayme Closs detailed the circumstances of her kidnapping and the October murders of her parents.  Closs said she and her mom tried to call 911 from the bathroom after hearing gunshots, but suspect Jake Patterson broke down the door and made them hang up.

Closs said she and her mom tried to call 911 from the bathroom after hearing gunshots, but suspect Jake Patterson broke down the door and made them hang up.  He put tape over Jayme's mouth and shot her mother before stashing Jayme in the trunk of his car and driving away.  The report says what followed next was a harrowing ordeal that included Patterson making Jayme hide under a bed in his remote home in the northern area of Gordon, Wisconsin. He stacked laundry bins around the bed and he would turn music on loud when he would leave.  Jayme managed to escape days ago and find help.

Patterson reportedly told investigators he chose to kidnap Jayme at random after stopping behind a school bus on US Highway 9 and seeing her get off.  He is being charged with two counts of homicide and one count of kidnapping.
