I love celebrating ethnic holidays so today it was Cenco De Mayo, I'm sure most people aren't aware what the holiday represents but that doesn't matter we are all desperate to celebrate something. Spicy food, mariachi music, tequila and a lot of "Ariba's!" will be shouted and we'll all be Mexicans for a day. Many a sombrero will be stomped by dancing feet and the sounds of castanets will fill the air it's a day of rejoicing, why, because it was on this date that Mexican forces faced with overwhelming numbers of French soldiers got victory and let the world know they have made their place on the world stage. The dumbest question you can ask "When Is Cenco de Mayo?"
Cenco=5, de Mayo= of May, it falls on the same date each year, only the days change.
It's the off season for Iowa State Sports but that doesn't mean things stand still. If it's happening in athletics you'll hear it first on the home town station of the Cyclones 1430 KASI, 1430kasi.com and on your FREE iHeart app.
