(Des Moines, IA) -- Another soggy start to the Iowa State Fair, which opens its 11 day run today.
State Fair officials have resumed all outdoor activities after pausing them for a time this morning.
The storms knocked out power to over 3,460 MidAmerican Power customers in the Des Moines metro, while Alliant Energy reported several hundred outages in surrounding counties this morning.
Flooded roadways in Des Moines stranded motorists and caused minor crashes. Des Moines Police say portions of Dean and Delaware Avenues are temporarily closed.
