(Ankeny, IA) -- A road construction project will require some overnight road closures on Interstate 35 between Ankeny and Ames starting Sunday.
The Iowa Department of Transportation says a shoulder widening project will close northbound traffic on I-35 from Northeast 36th Street, Exit 94 up to U.S. 30., Exit 111. Northbound I-35 will be closed nightly on Sunday and Monday, May 10th and 11th from 9pm to 5am each night.
The Iowa DOT says the posted detour instructions include:
- Travel west on Northeast 36th Street (Exit 94)
- Travel north on U.S. 69 to U.S. 30 in Ames
- Travel east on U.S. 30 to return to northbound I-35 (Exit 111)
The closure will also include the northbound rest stop, which will close at 10am on Sunday, May 10th and will remain closed until 5am on Tuesday, May 12th at 5am. More information is available on the Iowa 511 website.
