(Iowa) -- A new study from WalletHub looks at the average 2025 holiday budget in more than 550 cities across the country.
The study looked at five key metrics, including age, income, debt-to-income ratio, monthly expenses-to-income ratio, and the savings-to-monthly expenses ratio. Six cities in Iowa made the list of 558 cities including:
- Sioux City - average holiday budget of $1,861 (113th overall)
- Cedar Rapids - average holiday budget of $1,449 (229th overall)
- Des Moines - average holiday budget of $1,409 (242nd overall)
- Davenport - average holiday budget of $1,350 (264th overall)
- Iowa City - average holiday budget of $1,298 (286th overall)
- Waterloo - average holiday budget of $1,292 (293rd overall)
The U.S. city with the highest holiday budget is Palo Alto, California, with an average of $4,485. At the bottom of the list is Elizabeth, New Jersey, with an average holiday budget of $212. The full study is available on WalletHub's website.
