Letter Carriers to Pick up Food Pantry Donations Saturday

(Iowa) -- Letter carriers across the country will be collecting donations to local food pantries on Saturday as part of the National Letter Carriers Association's Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

The NALC says food pantries are collecting non-perishable food items such as jars of peanut butter, canned fruit, and more, as well as household items like paper towels and bathroom tissue. People can leave items inside or next to the mailbox prior to mail delivery, and the letter carrier will pick them up and take them to a local food pantry. People can also make donations online at the National Letter Carriers Association's website.

Saturday's food drive will the the 30th Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive and the first in-person drive in the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
