Omaha Man Dies In Western Iowa Interstate Crash

The Iowa State Patrol says 39-year old Carson Stiffler of Omaha was killed just after midnight Wednesday while driving in the wrong direction on Interstate 29 at the Mondamin exit in Harrison County.

The report says Stiffler was driving a Honda Civic southbound in the northbound lanes and collided with another car.

Investigators say Stiffler’s car had its doors sheared off during the collision, and he was thrown out as the car rolled in the median, landing upright. The Patrol says he did wear a seat belt;

Troopers say 20-year-old Serena Mailes from Sioux City was driving the other car. She was taken to Missouri Valley for treatment of her injuries.
