Foreign Exchange Coordinator Charged With Child Sex Crimes

OMAHA, Nebraska - A man who is a coordinator for a program that matches host families with foreign exchange students is facing several charges.

6 News reports that 50 year old Thomas Boatright of Omaha was arrested in Council Bluffs last week. The Southern District Court of Iowa reports Boatright was booked on three counts of sexual exploitation of a child and possession of child pornography.

On Tuesday, March 3rd, a federal judge ruled that Boatright will be held without bond because there is a risk "the defendant will endanger the safety of another person or community."

Court records show that three children were engaged for the purpose of making pornography between August 10th and February 13th.

Boatright was an employee of EF High School Exchange Year. Reports show he hosted teens himself and had contact with high schools and families.
