Council Bluffs Woman Stabbed And Two Suspects In Custody

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa - Two in Council Bluffs are accused of attempted murder after a stabbing early this morning at 805 2nd Avenue.

Council Bluffs Police say that two people arrived at the victim's apartment around 5 a.m. Friday. That prompted an argument. Police say that one suspect, 29 year old Billie Fitzgerald pulled a knife from her clothing and stabbed the woman once in her abdomen. That woman told police that just before she was stabbed, she heard 29 year old Frank Stewart encouraging Fitzgerald to stab her.

Police located both Fitzgerald and Stewart and both were booked into Pottawattamie County Corrections. Fitzgerald will be charged with attempted murder and going armed with intent. Stewart was taken to a hospital to be treated for an unrelated condition. Police say when he is released he will also be charged with attempted murder.

The victim is expected to recover.
