Woman Wins $150,000 In Child Support For Her 52-Year-Old Daughter

A California woman has reached a settlement with her ex-husband for $150,000 in child support payments after he walked out on her and her then three-year-old daughter nearly 50 years ago. Toni Anderson says that her ex, who she describes as a "deadbeat dad," refused to pay the court-ordered child support payments and fled to Canada to avoid paying her $160 every month.

Anderson was left to raise her daughter alone, and she managed to provide a good life for her daughter working as an interior designer. Now that Anderson is retired, money is tight, and she told KGTV that she remembered that there is no statute of limitations on child support payments. When she learned that her ex-husband, who has not been identified, was living in Oregon, she contacted a lawyer and filed a lawsuit to collect the money he owed her.

"I think he's a little bit panicked," Anderson said. "And I'm very happy because I was panicked all these years. Now, it's his turn."

She was seeking $170,000 from her ex-husband, but the two agreed to settle for $150,000 during a private hearing.

"He was only supposed to give me like a 160 dollars a month. Well, that was 50 years ago. That today is a lot more money."
