DES MOINES, Iowa - Strong northwest winds will continue to cause significant blowing and drifting snow this evening.

The National Weather Service says blizzard conditions are likely across far northern Iowa throughout the evening hours.

Bitter cold temperatures combined with the strong winds will result in wind chill values ranging from 20 to 35 below zero at times Thursday night into Friday.

The winds will gradually subside throughout the day Friday.

More cold temperatures Friday night into Saturday.

Another storm system to bring light to locally moderate snowfall to much of central Iowa Saturday night into Sunday. The cold active weather pattern continues into next week with another system to likely bring widespread snow Monday night into Tuesday.
