Council talks housing cap, Lincoln Way rezoning

The Ames City Council is set to consider possible remidies for property owners in neighborhoods near the Iowa State campus affected by a proposed rental occupancy cap. Mayor John Haila says the council is interested in mitigating unintended consequences. He says the council will also take up the second reading of a rezoning ordinance for a"Downtown Gateway Corridor" along Lincoln Way. He says the council could make the area smaller. Tuesday night's meeting in City Hall starts at 6:00.
