Story Co. deputy suffers chemical exposure

A Story County sheriff's deputy is recovering from his injuries after being exposed to an unknown chemical last week. The sheriff's office says the deputy was executing a search warrant at a home in Ames Friday as part of the Central Iowa Drug Task Force when he became dizzy and his lips went numb. After exiting the home, the deputy's symptoms went away. He was taken to the hospital as a precaution and later released. The deputy's name wasn't released.
