The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is following up on a reported sighting of a black bear in southeastern Iowa. The Mahaska County Sheriff's Office says deputies were notified of a black bear sighting in a soybean field Wednesday. The sheriff's office says it was given photos of the bear and though officers didn't find it, they found hair believed to belong to a black bear. Oofficials say if a bear is sighted, do not approach or attempt to feed the animal, keep all children and pets inside and call police.
