Being a somewhat transit community it amazes me how inventive the regular community comes up with ways to make the temporary residents feel welcome. One of those efforts is an event called "Rummage Rampage" it's where people can bring items they no longer use yet are functional to a community wide sale offering those items at considerable savings and taking the monies raised to be split by non-profits who work at the event. This not only provides much needed funding but saves thousands of pounds of materials that would end up in a landfill. It's an everybody wins program which has also eliminated much of the unsightly curbside shopping. The timing is perfect as it occurs just as students return for Fall Semester.
