It isn't often you get to celebrate and party with 20,000 people you may not know, well I did it last night with the folks from RAGBRAI and thoroughly enjoyed it. They inundated our town in their quest to ride across the state this week and while I admit I may have been a bit jaded for our stop, their stories of the trip so far confirms the hospitality they have found throughout the route thus far. I know I have a tendency to brag about our home state and the kindnesses it shows to all who enter it's borders, but last night it was confirmed by 20,000 visitors from all over the world. Thanks to all in our community that made RAGBRAI 2018 a great memory for all.
The last Ames Municipal Band Concert of this summer season will be this Thursday Night at the Durham Bandshell and you can hear it on 1430 KASI beginning at 8pm. If you miss it on Thursday we play and encore performance Sunday Mornings at 9am.
