...yeah, that's all I've got. Anyhoo...
Here's the link to the WHO-TV news story about the Ames woman concerned about the bikini girl calendars for sale at a North Grand Mall kiosk. While I have many questions about the newsworthiness of this story, and why social media reaction should be a barometer of anything, I will reserve making judgements about whether or not the woman in question should or should not have been offended. Your level of offense is probably way different than mine, or hers. It's a totally subjective issue. Also, my view of these sorts of things changed a whole lot the minute I became a parent. I have been confronted time and again with those "uncomfortable conversations" with my kids.
That being said, I'd like all of us to resolve in the new year to play our cards a little closer to the vest. I'm not going to tell you not to be offended by something. I am going to ask you, at least a bit, to keep it to yourself. And yes, I promise to do the same.
Enjoy this family's Christmas video, and just know how high they've set the bar for all of us next year. The You Tube video has gotten more than 12,000,000 hits.
