Stephen Colbert was on "The Late Show with David Letterman" last night--it was his first appearance since it was announced that he'll be taking over for Dave next year.
Having just seen it may take-aways are:
1. We'll be just fine. Just from 12 minutes on the show, it seems to me Colbert can pull off hosting the show while not being "in character."
2. He has a clear admiration for Dave, and knows the mantle he's about to inherit.
3. If it totally tanks, he still got to do a Top 10 List in Letterman's presence and got a laugh.
