Are we but lemmings being led to the Christmas shopping cliff? Every year marketing folks and now the media convince us that the amout of shopping days for Christmas is dependent upon when the Thanksgiving holiday lands. Here's some breaking news, the amount of shopping days never changes with the exception of Leap Year where you get one more. You can buy those presents at any time of year, you are not limited to the weeks following Thanksgiving. I applaud those who came up with the Black Friday concept and abhor those who decided it needed to be moved back to Thursday. Shop sensibly, a bargain is only a bargain if you need it. Gifts come from the heart not the wallet and should come with the genuine spirit of giving.
