That's a question you may be asking yourself if you've been trying to follow the Ames High baseball team this season. What with all the rainouts and flooding, there's a lot going on. So here's what we have (for now):
Tonight-Ames plays at Boone. They were supposed to play in Ames but the Squaw Creek put an end to that.
Monday July 7-Not only will the Little Cyclones return to Ray Smalling Field, they'll play a doubleheader plus against Marshalltown. The "plus" part comes when the rivals complete a game suspended during their previous meeting in Marshalltown.
Tuesday July 8-Des Moines Lincoln comes to town. This matchup has been delayed twice before so what could possibly go wrong?
Wednesday July 9-Things start to get back to normal as Ames visits Ankeny Centennial for a doubleheader
Thursday July 10-Nothing like a two-hour road trip to finish a busy week! The Little Cyclones head out to Ottumwa for a doubleheader. They'll get back to two around 2:00 a.m. probably.
Monday July 14-Another road trip, this time to Ft. Dodge for a doubleheader.
Tuesday July 15-A shorter road trip! The Little Cyclones head to Dowling for a twin bill.
Friday July 18-The postseason arrives. Ames will play their first substate game.
Got all that?
A little bit about me....
I've been Sports Director at News/Talk 1430 KASI since December 2005. I graduated from Iowa State just a few months before that. My career has also taken me to such exotic locals as Estherville, and Storm Lake, Iowa, Owatonna, Minnesota, and Silver City, New Mexico (long story-don't ask). I've also had the pleasure of working part-time at WOI Radio in Ames and WHO Radio in Des Moines while I was a student.
I'm a native of Maplewood, Minnesota, a suburb of St. Paul. It was there that I was inflicted with the curse of being a Minnesota Vikings fan. There is still no known cure, though many times I wish there was. I'm also an avid follower of the Minnesota Twins and of course, the Iowa State Cyclones.
