That's pretty much the message from ISU athletic director Jamie Pollard when it comes to watching the Cyclones' football matchup with Texas. In case you missed it, ISU convinced the Big 12 to let both the Longhorn Network and Cyclones.tv to show the game. Which, I suppose is better than having the game only on LHN. However, it also means you have to have a Mediacom or Cyclones.tv subscription (and live in Iowa) to watch the game. If you don't qualify, tough nuggetts. Or just suck it up and pay for a subscription, as Pollard told the Ames Tribune:
“That is part of growing the brand,” Pollard said. “I want them to do that. If watching the game isn’t worth $10 do they really want to watch it?”
AHHHH SNNNAAAP! Deal with it ISU fans! What, you don't care enough about your team to fork over 10 bucks to watch them play? You know, in addition to your cable/satellite fees, internet provider fees, season ticket costs, parking costs, etc...
O.k., I'm just having a little fun, there, but I get where Pollard is coming from. Part of his job is to get more people to buy a subscription to Cyclones.tv. He also knows better than most that you can please all the fans all the time. But try telling that to this guy.
A little bit about me....
I've been Sports Director at News/Talk 1430 KASI since December 2005. I graduated from Iowa State just a few months before that. My career has also taken me to such exotic locals as Estherville, and Storm Lake, Iowa, Owatonna, Minnesota, and Silver City, New Mexico (long story-don't ask). I've also had the pleasure of working part-time at WOI Radio in Ames and WHO Radio in Des Moines while I was a student.
I'm a native of Maplewood, Minnesota, a suburb of St. Paul. It was there that I was inflicted with the curse of being a Minnesota Vikings fan. There is still no known cure, though many times I wish there was. I'm also an avid follower of the Minnesota Twins and of course, the Iowa State Cyclones.
