So that was a pretty gruesome injury to Louisville’s Kevin Ware, eh? Yes. Yes it was. So let’s talk about something else.

I correctly picked two Final Four teams in our online bracket contest (Michigan and Louisville) but I whiffed on the national champ. I had Indiana. For that reason alone, I’m rooting against Syracuse. I’m a bitter individual. Nonetheless, I’m still the top performer amongst my co-workers. So it’s a good thing I’m the sports director I guess. Because of all the expertise, you see. Also, good to see WichitaState get to the Final Four. Not as fun as watching FloridaGulfCoast would’ve been, but you can’t always get what you want, as a famous philosopher once said. Also good to see Duke get whipped. There’s never anything wrong with that.

The Ware injury is dominating the talk of the sports world, a fair amount of which may have otherwise been focused on Baylor’s loss in the women’s tournament. I would’ve been surprised if the Lady Bears has won by less the 20 points, to be honest, so seeing them down double-digits in the second half sure got my attention. I saw the last 10 minutes of the game. There was no shortage of drama there with all the officiating blunders, trash-talking players and a coach dang near ripping off her clothes at a bad call. (Yeah, that late charge against Baylor was bad call. One of many.) History will likely forget the officiating blunders, unless that history department is located in Waco, Texas, and only remember that Louisville pulled off maybe the greatest upset in women’s college basketball history. That’s why I love this time of year!

So how much hoops did you watch during your Easter weekend? What did you think of the games?
