Fair Fare

I am not one to attend the greatest state fair in the world, of course I am speaking of the IOWA STATE FAIR. While I do all I can to avoid it, after not having the opportunity to decline last year because of Covid 19 I may accept the invitation this summer. My wife and daughter go every year as long as there is some creative yet disgusting food to be tried. They are the ultimate experts on the best tasting, deep fried foods you can put on a stick so they usually do their thing and leave me to mine. I like to find a nice comfortable bench in the shade and people watch. The choice of wardrobe is astounding and crosses all the fashion borders and at times can't help but make you smile. Mostly it brings home the reality of the cross section of people who inhabit this state and how at a moment in time their paths will cross at the IOWA STATE FAIR and suddenly a warm feeling of pride of just being an Iowan and sharing a moment in time where all seems right with the world makes it worth it.

Lots of special guests are scheduled on The Breakfast Club this Friday on 1430 KASI at 7:10 am. It's the best way of keeping up on what's happening in Central Iowa, so join us on 1430 KASI, 1430kasi.com and on your iHeart radio app.
