Mass Shooting of the Day

15 mass shootings in a week, the latest one a few hours ago killing 8 in California, these have become so common place that there impression barely remains in our conscience as we anticipate the next one. The "It can't happen to me" feeling should be dissipating but the response thus far from politicians is exasperating. Citizens are now thinking along the lines of self defense and the vicious cycle of buying more handguns will continue. Perhaps we should consider gun safety training as part of a childs education as the number of accidental shootings of children is also on the increase. I wish I had the answer but I don't, I do know we cannot continue pretending that this is a normal part of life and accepting it, displaying shock each time it happens. I do not expect that todays shooting will have any monumental effect on gun control and will only remain fresh until the next one.
