NEVER EVER

Long ago I learned that I needed to hold true to the idea that Sunday should be a day of rest and for the most part have succeeded in that effort save for a little grass cutting. I have since learned a valuable lesson, do not watch any of the DIY programs with your wife. Suddenly I feel like less of a man as I have never conquered the skills of homebuilding. I try to convince her that DIY projects take the food out of the skilled worker and their families mouths and does no let them apply their art to earn an honest days wage. Of course the next program features a blind man with one arm building a 4 seasons porch and my excuse no longer applies. It becomes even more emasculating as my father in law included my wife in his projects and endowed her with skills I've never come close to. Whenever there's a fixit problem at our house I'm relegated to handing her the tools she needs. Those plans of laying in the pool or resting on the hammock have now disappeared and I might as well sell my golf clubs. The 1 page list of to do's for the summer has now turned into her 1st novel and I will be proving my title as "unhandyman".
