The Ames school district sent an email to parents Tuesday saying high school principal Spence Evans is leaving his position to become principal at Tipton High school. Read the full text of the email below:
Dear parents,
We are writing to announce that Ames High Principal Spence Evans has accepted a new position as high school principal with the Tipton School District. Principal Evans is the embodiment of Ames High excellence and has been simply amazing in his position. His knowledge of secondary curriculum, how he has steered the design of the new Ames High construction project, and most importantly his relationship with students will certainly be missed, among many other qualities.
Both he and his wife Abby have expressed interest in being closer to their family, and this move allows that to happen. We wish Principal Evans and his family the best of luck in the future.
