The Ames City Council, Tuesday, put off the second reading of an ordinance establishing exexmptions and hardships from a renatal concentration cap in neighborhoods near the Iowa State Campus. First Ward Council Member Gloria Betcher says she'd intended, at the council's last meeting, to add language to the ordinance prohibiting the transfer of a rental permit when a home under the cap exemption is sold. Second Ward Council Member Tim Gartin says that change deserves public input. The council will take public input and give the ordinance a second reading before a workshop session next Tuesday.
