State leaders fear tariffs effects on farmers

Some of Iowa's Republican leaders are worried about a trade war with China and the effect it could have on farmers in the state.  Senator Chuck Grassley spoke out against President Trump's new threats to charge tariffs on $200 billion in products from China after both countries vowed tariffs on $50 billion worth of products.  Senator Joni Ernst also spoke out against the White House, saying the tariffs would be a tax on Iowa's farm families. Governor Kim Reynolds criticized the tariffs as a threat to a "fragile ag economy," and noted the rest of the state's economy is starting to grow.
