Dry weather pushes planting

Iowa farmers are starting to ramp-up spring planting. The USDA reports 17 percent of corn and two percent of soybeans are in the ground in Iowa. State Agriculture Secretary Mike Naig says wet soil from melting snow slowed farmers in northwest and north central Iowa, where less than five percent of corn is planted. Spring planting has been behind schedule in Iowa due to the cold, wet, and snowy spring.
