WaPo: Trump tried to stop Iowa insurance stop-gap

A Washington Post story says President Trump personally tried to stop federal officials from approving Iowa's stopgap health insurance measure.  Officials told the newspaper Trump called Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Seema Verma to urge that they deny Iowa's request.  The Iowa Insurance Division proposed the plan after Medica looked like it would be the only health insurance provider in the state next year.  The story comes as open enrollment under the Affordable Care Act starts Nov. 1st.
