An Anamosa police officer is dead from a car crash in eastern Iowa. The state patrol says 40-year-old Mitchell Kelchen died at the scene just after 7:30 Saturday morning in Jackson County. He was a passenger in a car driven by 40-year-old Tina Kelchen that was struck by a van driven by 60-year-old Marjorie Louise Hendrickson of Bellevue that crossed the center line. Tina Kelchen and Hendrickson were flown to University of Iowa hospitals for serious injuries.
