Wet fields hamper planting

Iowa farmers are hoping for better weather to finish their planting of the corn and soybean crops.  There were fewer than three days suitable for field work last week.  Ninety-two percent of the corn crop has been planted which is a few days behind last year's pace.  Soybean planting is 62 percent complete.  Pasture conditions remained largely good to excellent, but the week's rain resulted in muddy feedlots which is stressing some cattle.
