Teachers union sues Iowa on collective bargaining law

The Iowa State Education Association is challenging the new collective bargaining law passed this year.  The ISEA argues it doesn't treat all workers equally.  One of the group's claims is that public safety workers enjoy more bargaining rights than the rest. Gov. Branstad signed the law in February that restricts bargaining for most public union employees to only base wages. Another lawsuit had been filed by AFSCME Iowa Council 61.
