Minimum wage ban becomes law

Minimum wage hikes passed in five Iowa counties are now history. Gov. Branstad signed a measure Thursday that ends those increases and sets the statewide minimum wage at $7.25 an hour. The legislation affects wage hikes already passed in Johnson, Linn, Polk, Wapello, and Lee counties. The wage hike in Lee County passed earlier this week while the first of Polk County's wage hikes was going to take effect Saturday.
