Story County marks Severe Weather Awareness Week

Story County's Emergency Management Coordinator wants you to be ready for tornado and thunderstorm season.  Keith Morgan says individuals, businesses, and facilities like schools should all take part in the National Weather Service's Severe Weather Awareness Week.  Morgan says the first step in severe weather planning is knowing where to go when the warnings are issued. While lots of attention is paid to tornadoes and severe thunderstorms this time of year, Morgan says it's flooding that kills the most people--especially people in cars who think they can cross flood waters.  He says it's important to "turn around, don't drown."
