Minimum wage ban Senate bill advances

After much debate and discussion, a bill to ban Iowa towns and counties from setting their own minimum wage rates is moving on from committee to the full Senate for consideration.  The House passed the bill earlier this month and it already has support in the senate.  The measure would maintain one statewide minimum-wage which currently is $7.25 an hour.  If passed by the Senate and signed by the governor, the bill would eliminate minimum wage increases already approved in Linn, Johnson, Polk and Wapello counties.
